The Wood Consultant About Me  I am Nigel Wood, and I have over 24 years practical experience making and designing joinery and conservatories. After taking a Geology degree and then working as a boat builder, I trained as a carpenter and joiner. From 1982 to 2006 I worked for a major conservatory company and for much of that time I was responsible for all the bespoke joinery, for show models, and for developing new products and designs. In 2000 I joined the Design Office team where we processed up to 180 conservatory drawings a week into workshop and stores specifications. From 2004-6, as part of the Research and Development team I played a pivotal role in designing and introducing a completely new hi-spec timber conservatory using new sections, new machinery, and new production methods. Now I've decided to branch out on my own and offer you all the experience I have.
